Training

I never thought I would ever get another degree ... but I did.  Last Friday I graduated from the Rocky Mountain Fire Academy, after completing one week of Fire Brigade School, a required training to winter at the South Pole Station. 

I also never thought that I would ever make it to the South Pole in the course of my life ... but I am well on my way, currently scheduled to leave home on Oct 14th, get to the ice at McMurdo station in Antarctica on the 20th, and, if all goes well, to the South Pole before the end of October.

I will be here in Colorado with the South Pole station winter crew for another week of training on emergency response, trauma, and for team building before deployment.
